Our basic policy here at Bath Golf Club is firstly to bring as little as possible off of the course as possible and secondly to try to recycle or send for recycling anything which has to be brought off the course. This can be broken down in the following way: Grass Clippings: Generally disposed of on the course, any that are returned to the shed are piled into a container and left to compost. The ‘juices’ are drained off and used to feed tees and practice facilities. Cans and Bottles: We have separate bins provided for non-recyclable rubbish and bottles, cans and plastic which is sorted into larger bins which BANES (Bath and North East Somerset) council take away for recycling. Along with BANES council we have begun promoting recycling throughout the club as a whole with a poster campaign. Wood and Leaves: All smaller wood pieces (branches) taken from the course along with leaves and other biodegradable debris is stacked and turned ready for using as mulch on gardens and similar areas. Recycled compost has been sourced from a local recycling company and is used as a top-dressing on fairways.
