SGU Competitions21st February 2012
Several Competitions organised by the Somerset Golf Union are available for Members to enter. They include competitions for Juniors and Seniors. (You will notice that the County Championship is being played at Bath GC on 20th May). Please see ‘Competitions’ in the Members section.

Teams of 4 - Each team needs to bring a copy of the
Rules of Golf 2012 – 2015 (obtainable from the office)
Payment must be made in advance at the bar to ensure entry
Cost to include finger buffet at half-time and prizes: £7.50 per person

Appointment of Club Manager6th February 2012
APPOINTMENT OF CLUB MANAGER
On behalf of the Management Board I am pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Roberts as Club Manager for Bath Golf Club. Tony will be joining us on 15 March 2012 from Chiltern Forest Golf Club where he has been General Manager since 2009. Tony’s previous roles include Golf Operations Manager for Mentmore Golf & Country Club and Golf Manager at both Ellesmere Port Golf Centre and De Vere Belton Woods. Tony qualified as a PGA Professional at Royal Liverpool Golf Club (Hoylake) where he worked as Club Professional until 1990.
Tony has extensive golf club management experience and is looking forward to visiting Bath during February and starting to get to know members and staff.
I am sure you will join me in welcoming Tony to our club and wishing him every success in his new role.

Joint Captains Drive In20th December 2011

My congratulations to all who braved the frosty start and joined us on Saturday morning for the Drive In. We were very fortune with the weather a bright clear Winters day ( most bracing )A special thanks to Martin Warman who donated a superb hamper of exotic fruit plus his usual first tee bananas, in addition he donated the prize he won in the Ladies silent auction a round or lessons with Ross Jones. These were auctioned and raised £80.00 towards Ross Jones entry fees for next season.
The Captains charity got off to a flying start (Great Western Air Ambulance) with £155.00 raised on the day guessing the landing position of the Captains Drives.
On behalf of Kate Smith and myself a big thanks you for making it a most enjoyable day. We are both looking forward to the golfing year ahead and take this opportunity of wishing you all a Happy Christmas.
