Bath Golf Club’s Academy has been designed to provide the skills and confidence to anyone wishing to play golf for the first time or come back to the game after an absence.

For an Annual fee of £90, Academy membership includes full access to all practice and clubhouse facilities. For a further £10 you will also be given a proximity/ key card to enable you to access the changing rooms, clubhouse and bar facilities.

Teaching

The Professional team at Bath Golf Club is led by Club Professional, Russell Covey.  Professionals, Phil Cloak & James Hannan lead the Academy coaching. As an Academy member you will  receive regular e-mails regarding group coaching, on course sessions and individual lessons. The professional team are on hand to answer any questions and offer advice on all golf equipment needed to start the game, although clubs will be provided for all Academy lessons, if required.

Aims

Once all areas of the game have been covered and a basic standard has been achieved, Academy members will be encouraged to play a small number of holes, firstly with one of the Professionals, then with a friendly, supportive member from the club. This pathway helps to integrate Academy members onto the golf course gradually so that they never feel too daunted by what lies ahead.

Having reached the appropriate level as agreed with the Club Professional, Academy Membership allows you to play either four or seven holes unaccompanied at a cost of £1 per hole at pre-agreed, off-peak times.

Academy Plus Membership

This is a stepping stone to full membership and is designed to give confidence and flexibility to Academy members who have attained a good playing level and are permitted to play on the course unaccompanied but do not yet feel ready to commit to full membership.

For an annual fee of £410 membership includes all the benefits of the Academy, PLUS 30 rounds of golf taken over the year. Additonal rounds can be played at a beneficial rate. Academy Plus members must register with the Pro Shop before play to enable their rounds to be recorded.

Eligibility

• This membership is ONLY available to those who have previously been members of the Academy and is limited to ONE YEAR (starting from 1st April).
• Players MUST have permission from the Head Professional to play unaccompanied on the course.
• Members of Academy Plus are NOT able to obtain a handicap.
